Red Lion Hotel - Swaffham

Not very friendly staff!

Exceptionally friendly venue, exceptionally nice location really close to swaffham on Sunday, the Red Lion and the main town square, loved our stay. We had a well decorated and quiet room with comfy beds and everything was really good.

The food was delicious, but the courtyard view was disappointing.

I checked in for a night and was impressed by the comfy bed and good vibes around the bar area! Although there wasn't live entertainment I enjoyed a quiet evening with a good book and a refreshing drink. The only thing I'd mention is that the clock from the nearby church does chime a bit loudly, but it honestly didn't bother me much. 😉

The Twin Room was pretty basic but had some nice touches. It was quiet, so I got a good night's sleep. The decor could use a bit of TLC. The shower was nice and hot, but the pressure wasn't the strongest. A comfy bed, though was good.

The Red Lion had a cosy atmosphere with friendly staff who were very accommodating. The food was tasty, especially the lamb roast, but the portion sizes could have been more generous. A pleasant experience worth revisiting.

Great food and friendly vibes!

We spent 4 nights and loved the home-cooked meals. The English breakfast was a hit with my husband, and staff were super nice and helpful. It felt cozy and cute! The only bummer was that the bar area got a bit crowded at times, but it was still a blast.

The large english breakfast was a highlight, and the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere. I loved the lasagne. It was tasty and plentiful. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The location was also great for coming and going, and overall, it's a lovely spot to unwind.

We visited a local brewery and explored some beautiful walking trails. The food was really great, exceeding our expectations-definitely try the lasagne! The staff were friendly and really accommodating. Our family room was perfect for our group. Would recommend this place for a fun getaway!

One minor issue was that my husband's fish was slightly overcooked, but it wasn't a huge deal.

The shower pressure is disappointingly weak. Room sizes tend to be on the small side, with basic fittings that aren't particularly inviting. Check-out at 10 AM can feel a bit rushed, especially after a night out, and the lack of breakfast options on the premises is an inconvenience for early risers. The outdoor terrace could use a bit of TLC, as it feels neglected, while occasional stale smells in the rooms hint at issues with air circulation.

The location is fantastic, right in the town center with free street parking. The staff are friendly and offered help with my luggage. Breakfast was good quality and worth the extra cost. The atmosphere is cute, perfect for solo travelers looking to unwind.

The dining experience was a highlight, with homemade meals that were both tasty and plentiful. The central location also made it convenient to explore local shops and attractions. One slight downside was the lack of breakfast options on-site, but plenty of nearby cafes made up for it.

100% recommend for a brief hiatus

Comfortable room, convenient location, with a tv and free Wi-Fi making our stay enjoyable. The off-site parking was a great bonus since we traveled 40 km to reach this spot.
